2011 – 2012 REGISTRATION AND ADMISSIONS

1. Students from primary schools are accepted to our high school preparatory class after being assessed by the school placement exam. The students who are successful are registered to the prep class not to exceed the 50% quota of the whole capacity regardless of the school they come from.

2. The rest of the 50% quota is reserved for the students who graduated from Dr. Natuk Birkan Private Elementary School and they are registered directly to the preparatory class. If the application exceeds the reserved quota, students are placed based on their graduation scores and those who have higher scores are accepted for registration.

3. Student registration and admission to the school is completed by assessing student’s 8th grade OYP placement test score and minimum score set by the school administration.

4. The students who are going to be registered into prep classes are expected to pass the Turkish Language placement test and they are also required to pass English Placement test in order to make sure that they will be able to follow Mathematics and Science courses taught in English.

5. Education Scholarships will be given to the students who rank in the first 3000 of the whole participants that participated in the 8th Grade OYP Placement Exam from Istanbul;

• 100% scholarship to the candidates who are in the first 1000,
• 75% scholarship to the candidates who are in the 1001-1500.

• 50% scholarship to the candidates who are in the 1501-2000.
• 25% scholarship to the candidates who are in the 2001- 3000.

     Student Transfer to Intermediate Classes
     1. Students who meet the transfer requirements take the placement tests in the last week of 
       June and August. Student admission is based on the results of the placement tests.
      The  enrollment procedure of the successful students must be completed within five days.
      60 points out of 100 is required on all tests.
 2. The placement tests are prepared according to the distribution of course hours.    
      English placement tests are given to assess both written and oral production.

• 9th Grade
  - English Placement Tests
  - Turkish Placement Tests
• 10th and 11th Grades
  - English Placement Tests
  - Turkish, Science, Mathematics and Social Science Tests.

3. No transfer students are accepted to Prep classes and 12th grade.
4. No student registration is accepted unless they meet the above requirements.
